1962 First production: Critic’s Choice
We were a traveling troupe performing in schools and fire houses
1964-65 First Childrens’ Theatre, The Magic Curtain and The Emperor’s New Clothes
1969 Eastern Penna. Theatre Council (EPTC) Competition
Best Production, Best Actress – The Heiress
1972-73 Purchased former F.B. Neiman & Sons Funeral Home
Our first five show season starting with Cactus Flower
1973-74 First Golden Anvil Awards – Best Production First Fish
1977-78 First musical presented as part of a season, Once Upon a Mattress
1981-82 Regular summer productions added as a sixth show, but not part of the season ticket, Heaven Can Wait
1983 New chairs and a Gala Theatre Party to thank all our donors
1986-87 Celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a Gala Party and a season of five of Forge’s “Best” productions brought back to life
1987-88 Due to demand, we expanded to a six show season, adding a Sunday matinee and a Thursday evening to each production
1993 Mortgage paid off – official “burning the mortgage” Gala party
1997 Extensive fundraiser to finally add air-conditioning to Forge
2006 First annual Broadway for Life Cabaret– a performance to benefit cancer research and the Phoenixville Relay for Life
2007 Our production of A Piece of My Heart was performed in Washington D.C. on Memorial Day at the request of the
Vietnam Women’s Memorial Foundation
2010 Started electronic ticketing
2011 Our 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration and a redo of Forge favorites
2014 New piano
Added a second Sunday matinee for all productions
2016 Named “Best Live Theatre in the Western Burbs” by Main Line Today
New roof and portico
2017 New air-conditioning, new light board, new LED lights, new stage drapery
